      Alternate Names
      • Doublesex- and mab-3-related transcription factor 1
      • DM domain expressed in testis protein 1
      • DMRT1
Background InformationDoublesex- and mab-3-related transcription factor 1, also known as DM domain expressed in testis protein 1, and encoded by the gene name DMRT1 or DMT1, is found in a cluster with two other members of the protein family, having in common a zinc finger-like DNA-binding motif (DM domain). The DM domain is an ancient, conserved component of the vertebrate sex-determining pathway that is also a key regulator of male development in flies and nematodes. DMRT1 is localized in the nucleus and exhibits a gonad-specific and sexually dimorphic expression pattern. Defective testicular development and XY feminization occur when DMRT1 is hemizygous.

      Storage and Shipping Information
Storage ConditionsStable for 1 year at -20°C from date of receipt.
Handling Recommendations: Upon receipt and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance.
Note: Variability in freezer temperatures below -20°C may cause glycerol containing solutions to become frozen during storage.
