OverviewEMD Millipore’s MILLIPLEX® MAP Human Myokine Magnetic Bead Panel 15-plex kit to be used for the simultaneous quantification of any or all of the following analytes in human serum and plasma samples: Fractalkine/CX3CL1, BDNF, Oncostatin M (OSM), Osteonectin (SPARC), LIF, FGF-21, Erythropoietin (EPO), IL-15, IL-6, Apelin, Myostatin/GDF8, Irisin, Osteocrin/Musclin, FABP3 and Follistatin-Like Protein (FSTL 1).

MILLIPLEX® MAP offers the broadest selection of analytes across a wide range of disease states and species. Once the analytes of interest have been identified, you can rely on the quality that we build into each kit to produce results you can trust. In addition to the assay characteristics listed in the protocol, other performance criteria evaluated during the validation process include: cross-reactivity, dilution linearity, kit stability and sample behavior (e.g. detectability and stability). Each panel and kit meets stringent manufacturing criteria to ensure batch-to-batch reproducibility.

Each MILLIPLEX® MAP panel and kit includes:

Background InformationMuscle contraction during physical activity is an important activator of the release of the myokines. Myokines not only can act in autocrine and/or paracrine manner in regulation of skeletal muscle growth, they can also act as endocrine hormones to mediate inter-organ crosstalk. The myokine theory provides molecular mechanistic explanations to the exercise-induced metabolic changes in liver and adipose tissue as well as the profound changes in immune and neuron systems.

The MILLIPLEX® MAP Human Myokine Magnetic Bead Panel enables you to focus on the relevance and therapeutic potential of Fractalkine/CX3CL1, BDNF, Oncostatin M (OSM), Osteonectin (SPARC), LIF, FGF-21, Erythropoietin (EPO), IL-15, IL-6, Apelin, Myostatin/GDF8, Irisin, Osteocrin/Musclin, FABP3 and Follistatin-Like Protein (FSTL 1) in your research model. Coupled with the Luminex xMAP® platform in a magnetic bead format, you receive the advantage of ideal speed and sensitivity, allowing quantitative multiplex detection of multiple analytes simultaneously, which can dramatically improve productivity.
