      Alternate Names
      • Cytokine receptor class-II member 8
      • Cytokine receptor family 2 member 8
      • class II cytokine receptor ZCYTOR7
      • interleukin 20 receptor, alpha
      • interleukin-20 receptor I
Background InformationIL-20R alpha (interleukin-20 receptor alpha) is a subunit of several receptor dimers. The IL-20R alpha and beta dimer is a receptor for IL-20, IL-19 and IL-24. The IL-20R alpha and IL-10R beta dimer is a receptor for IL-26. IL-20 is a cytokine involved in the regulation of proliferation and differentiation of keratinocytes during inflammation, particularly in the skin. IL-20R is widely expressed with highest levels in the skin, testis and brain. This protin is found to be upregulated in psoriasis and other skin inflammatory disorders.

      Entrez Gene Number
Entrez Gene SummaryThe protein encoded by this gene is a receptor for interleukin 20 (IL20), a cytokine that may be involved in epidermal function. The receptor of IL20 is a heterodimeric receptor complex consisting of this protein and interleukin 20 receptor beta (IL20B). This gene and IL20B are highly expressed in skin. The expression of both genes is found to be upregulated in Psoriasis. [provided by RefSeq]
