      Background InformationCHD-4 is also often referred to as Mi2-beta. This protein is a central component of the nucleosome remodeling and histone deacetylase (NuRD) repressor complex. CHD4 has been shown to interact with TRIM27, HDAC1, Histone deacetylase 2, MTA2, SATB1 and Ataxia telangiectasia and Rad3 related. This protein also interacts with KLF1. This interaction which depends on sumoylation of KLF1 leads to its transcriptional repression.
