      DescriptionAnti-acetyl-Histone H4 Antibody, AlexaFluor® 488 Conjugate
      Alternate Names
      • Histone H4, major
      • acetyl-Histone H4, AlexaFluor® 488 Conjugate
      • Histone H4, minor
      • Histone H4
Background InformationHistone H4 (UniProt P02310; P69151; P69152) is encoded by the HHF1 (ORF TTHERM_00498190) and HHF2 (ORF TTHERM_00189170) gene (Gene ID 7823613) in protozoa Tetrahymena. Histone H4 is one of the main histone proteins involved in the structure of chromatin in both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. Featuring a main globular domain and a long N terminal tail, H4 is involved with the structure of the nucleosomes of the 'beads on a string' structure. Acetylation of histone H4 occurs at several different lysine positions in the histone tail and is performed by a family of enzymes known as Histone Acetyl Transferases (HATs).
      Product Information
PresentationPurified rabbit antibody conjugate in PBS with 15mg/ml BSA and 0.1 % sodium azide.
ApplicationThis Anti-acetyl-Histone H4 Antibody, AlexaFluor® 488 Conjugate is validated for use in Immunocytochemistry for the detection of acetyl-Histone H4.
      Key Applications
      • Immunocytochemistry
Application NotesImmunocytochemistry Analysis: A 1:100 dilution from a representative lot detected acetyl-Histone H4 in HeLa, A431, and NIH/3T3 cells.
The unconjugated antibody (Cat. No. 06-598) is shown to be suitable also for Immunoprecipitation (IP), Chromatin IP (ChIP), and Western blotting applications.
      Biological Information
ImmunogenKLH-conjugated peptide corresponding to amino acids 2-19 of Tetrahymena histone H4 (AGG(Ac)KGG(Ac)KGMG(Ac)KVGA(Ac)KRHS-C), acetylated on lysines 5,8,12 and 16.
      Epitopea.a. 2-19
ConcentrationPlease refer to lot specific datasheet.
SpecificityRecognizes acetylated histone H4. Cross-reacts with acetylated histone H2B from Tetrahymena and weakly cross-reacts with acetylated histone H2B from HeLa cells. May crossreact with other acetylated proteins.
