          Description
          Catalogue Number117198
OverviewThe enzyme cytochemistry leukemia detection kit LEUCOGNOST® NASDCL new enables the semi-quantitative localization of naphthol AS-D chloroacetate esterase activity in leukocytes via the enzymatic hydrolysis of naphthol AS-D chloroacetate to a naphthol compound. This product, in turn, reacts with a diazonium salt to form an insoluble red-violet dye. The kit is registered as a CE / IVD product for applications in both cellular and tissue diagnostics and is sufficient for 12 staining applications with up to 16 slides each.

It features a new and improved formulation which produces a subtle coloration of cytoplasmic granules within granulopoietic cells, thus making detection of acute myeloblastic leukemia (AML) easier. This new version of the kit has been developed and characterized, to achieve a high degree of standardization using both native blood and bone marrow smears.

LEUCOGNOST® NASDCL new reacts clearly with both mature and immature granulocytes. Intense enzyme activity can also be detected in myelocytes, metamyelocytes, stab cells and mast cells. Activity may also be detected in myeloblastic leukemia cells, promyelocytes and Auer bodies. Monocytes are rarely reactive. Eosinophils, basophils, megakaryocytes, lymphocytes, plasma cells and red cell precursors show no or at most very weak reaction.
