LEUCOGNOST® ALPA is used for detection of the alkaline leukocyte phospahatase activity in leukocytes. Alkaline leucocyte phosphatase (AP) catalyzes the hydrolysis of phosphate esters in alkaline solution. 1-naphthol released from 1-naphthylphosphate is coupled to a diazonium salt to form a brown azo dye, which is precipitated according to the locality and the AP activity in the cell. It is developed and registered as CE / IVD product for applications in diagnostics.
