More content, more convenience – New packaging sizes for Entellan® new, Schiff's reagent and OSTEOMOLL®
Merck Millipore now provides three microscopy products for histology laboratories in even more user-friendly packaging sizes. Entellan® new, Schiff's reagent and OSTEOMOLL® are now available in larger bottles, in addition to the quantities available up to now. This means: More content in the familiar high quality and long shelf-life – as well as greater convenience, since the reagent vessels do not need to be changed so often in automated staining systems.

Entellan® new – now in a 1 liter bottle
Entellan® new is a non-aqueous mounting medium for microscopy. It consists of a polymer made from mixed acrylates which is dissolved in xylol. Entellan® new can therefore be used with histological preparations that are treated with xylol before mounting.
Schiff's reagent – now also in a 2.5 liter bottle
PAS staining (period acid Schiff) is one of the most common chemical methods in histology. For this staining, the material is first treated with period acid, which oxidizes the 1,2 glycols to aldehyde groups. In the next step, these aldehyde groups react with Schiff's reagent, leading to a strong red color reaction. This method allows non-substituted polysaccharides, neutral mucopolysaccharides, mucoproteins and glycoproteins, as well as glycolipids and phospholipids, to be specifically stained and detected.
Schiff's reagent is available in a 500 ml bottle and now also in a 2.5 liter bottle.
OSTEOMOLL® – now also in a safe 2.5 liter PE bottle
In routine histological processes, some tissues first need to be decalcified. OSTEOMOLL® can be used for all routinely used hard tissues. The equivalent for mild decalcification of tissue containing calcium is OSTEOSOFT®. Both solutions are color-coded, making it easier to differentiate the decalcifier from the fixing, washing or dehydration solutions in the subsequent staining process.
In addition to the 1 liter bottle, OSTEOMOLL® is now also available in a 2.5 liter PE bottle.
