Greater versatility and flexibility
Formerly known as the Spectroquant® Colorimeter Picco Cl2/pH/O3, this new colorimeter Spectroquant® Colorimeter Picco Cl2/O3/ClO2/CyA/pH measures two more parameters: chlorine dioxide and cyanuric acid. Additionally the determination of chlorine is also now possible using liquid reagents.
Just one device monitors five basic water quality parameters for applications in the food and chemical industries, research and contract labs, and field and production analyses.

- Spectroquant® Colorimeter Picco COD/CSB
Merck has also complemented the existing capabilities of the Spectroquant® Colorimeter Picco COD/CSB with four ranges that measure chemical oxygen demand (COD): from 10 mg/l up to 10 g/l. These new ranges will benefit industry specialists, particularly those working with waste water and at sewage treatment plants. The Spectroquant® Colorimeter Picco COD/CSB remains the perfect partner for ready-to-use Spectroquant® COD cell tests.
The Spectroquant® COD/CSB tests are USEPA approved and fully comply with ISO 15705 .
Built to withstand different environments
Both colorimeters are designed to hold up, wherever water is involved – processes that monitor drinking water and waste water, swimming pools, even beverage production. That’s why these two new models are waterproof and come equipped with a backlit display. The 9 V battery lasts up to impressive 40 hours – enough for nearly 600 measurement cycles lasting 4 minutes each – making the Spectroquant® Colorimeter Picco Cl2/O3/ClO2/CyA/pH and the Spectroquant® Colorimeter Picco COD/CSB perfect for on-the-spot use.
Tried and tested ease of use
As ever, these Spectroquant® Picco colorimeters are preprogrammed to work with Spectroquant® test kits. They’re so easy to use that staff requires no additional training to perform their own analyses. The new water quality parameters and more sensitive COD test simply mean that users – whether in the lab or on-site – can continue to rely on Merck for flexible, practical instruments and incredibly reliable results.
