A naphthoquinone analog that induces apoptosis in HeLa cells via the negative regulation of cell survival through caspase-3-mediated cleavage of p65/RelA subunit of NF-κB at Asp97. Also causes a potent growth arrest in human hepatocarcinoma cells without generating any ROS.
