A cell-permeable, potent, selective, ATP-competitive and irreversible inhibitor of the catalytic domain of the ErbB subfamily of protein tyrosine kinases. Inactivates ErbB1 (epidermal growth factor receptor) modifying the cysteine residue Cys797 at the active site. This inactivation is reversed with the addition of 1 mM DTT. Also inhibits ErbB2 (Neu/Her2 growth factor receptor; IC50 = 45 µM). This product is very unstable when exposed to oxygen. Unstable in solution; reconstitute just prior to use.
