Buffers
Biological buffer systems can be used for various applications, such as standard buffers for production processes and bioanalytical methods, for the preparation of culture media, for low -temperature biochemical applications and as elution buffers for chromatography. Buffers are used in almost every experiment. They offer the advantages of controlling reaction conditions and yields in organic synthesis. The task of the buffer is to create a defined environment for the biomolecules so that they can be kept in a stable and native form and stay fully active. As one of the largest European buffer manufacturers, Merck supplies buffers in various grades and packages sizes for customer-specific analysis. We use only highly purified substances of defined specifications in order to ensure reproducible processes on a laboratory or production scale.
