Detects and quantifies the level of FAK (Focal Adhesion Kinase) protein independent of its phosphorylation state in human, mouse and rat cells. FAK is a non-receptor tyrosine kinase that has been implicated in several cell processes including the regulation of cell motility, cell morphology and cell adhesion.

 3T3L1 cell lysate was serially diluted in Standard Diluent Buffer and assayed for FAK using the Detailed Protocol. The absorbance of each dilution was plotted against the FAK standard curve. Parallelism demonstrated by the figure above indicated that the standard accurately reflects FAK content in samples.  3T3L1 cells were left untreated or treated with 1 mM sodium orthovandate for 5h. Cell lysates were analyzed using the FAK ELISA Kit. Phosphorylated and unphosphorylated FAK were detected equally. |
