Micro-organisms in the air are a potential risk for contaminating raw materials, products and processes. The consequences of using microbiologically contaminated materials can be quite severe, and air quality control is thus a crucial element in the safe production of pharmaceuticals or cosmetics. Proven and improved
The original MAS-100® was a unique achievement and an incredible success – but the new MAS-100 NT® is even better. Its compact, user-friendly design, improved security features, easy and fully automatic calibration, validated software, and enhanced connection possibilities make the new MAS-100 NT® air sampler truly unique. Some major improvements of the new system are:
- its improved design with an illuminated display for easy navigation
- improved HACCP software with Microsoft Windows log-in functionality and reporting
- multi-lingual menu (English, French and German; Spanish in preparation, other languages on demand)
- acoustic alarm function
- data logging for samples and alarms
- USB communication for error-free results and automatic record-keeping
- long-life lithium-ion rechargeable batteries with intelligent charging, and much more.
All functions and parameters as well as the calibration procedure can be controlled using the new MAS-100 NT® software or may be programmed directly on the unit. An alarm and sample log records the last 100 events and can be exported or printed at any time. Hardware and software have been developed according to GAMP4.
How does it work?
The MAS-100 NT® microbial air monitoring system is a high-performance instrument based on the principle of the Andersen air sampler: Air is aspirated through a perforated lid and impacted onto the surface of growth media in a standard 90 mm Petri dish or 60 mm contact plate. Micro-organisms are trapped on the culture media and after a proper incubation period the formed colonies can be counted.
Highest sample collection accuracy
The MAS-100 NT® Microbial Air Monitoring System provides the most accurate sample collection available. Compared to the MAS-100®, impaction speed on the MAS-100 NT® – and thus its collection efficiency – has been improved thanks to a new sampling head with 300 x 0.6mm holes. The system uses a state-of-the-art mass flow sensor to measure the inflow of air and to continuously regulate the aspirated air volume during sample collection to maintain a constant value of 100 liters/min. This allows the MAS-100 NT® system to automatically adjust for differences in fill volume of Petri dishes, changes in air density, and differences between individual perforated lids.
