Cellvento™ CHO-100 is Merck Millipore’s first proprietary chemically defined, non-animal origin CHO growth media formulation. It was designed specifically for the long-term growth of Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cells in suspension, and for the expression of antibodies or recombinant proteins. Cellvento™ CHO-100 is produced as a top quality dry powder in our cGMP-compliant manufacturing facility, using the finest qualified materials available. Cellvento™ CHO-100 – excellent growth and productivity profiles
Cellvento™ CHO-100 was developed to achieve high growth and production profiles in CHO-S batch cell cultures. As confirmed through internal tests, Cellvento™ CHO-100 shows equivalent or superior performance compared to several other commercially available CHO media. Cellvento™ CHO-100 exhibits very good growth profiles for CHO-S cells, yielding remarkably high cell densities of impressive duration. Furthermore, these high cell densities achieved when grown in Cellvento™ CHO-100 also facilitate the production of high protein titers.
Media consistency – for reliable upstream processes
Ensuring process and product consistency is a common challenge in upstream biomanufacturing. Cellvento™ CHO-100 was thoroughly tested for batch-to-batch consistency using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) testing. In addition to demonstrating raw material consistency, cell culture performance testing was also evaluated. Its highly consistent physico-chemical characteristics, growth and production profiles ensure that Cellvento™ CHO-100 media can be used confidently with minimal risk of process variability attributable to cell culture media raw materials.
Homogeneity – for effective powder dissolution and uniform component distribution
Powder homogeneity is critical to media performance, as powder particle size can impact dissolution rates when reconstituted into liquids. In addition, heterogeneous powders can lead to settling during transportation, potentially resulting in inconsistent media performance if not re-constituted en masse. We utilize pin milling technology and in-process control by near infra-red (NIR) spectroscopy to ensure consistent particle size distribution of Cellvento™ CHO-100.

Regulatory Information Package providing extensive documentation on the manufacture,
characterization and control of the medium. The package contains, for example, a Certificate of Analysis, GMP Statement, TSE/BSE Certificate, Allergen Statement or GMO Certificate. Its structure is in line with the format of CTD Module 3, in order to support the compilation of your registration dossier.
