Embedding Media
In order to achieve uniform sectioning quality, the material being processed needs to have a defined hardness and to be homogenous. Traditional embedding agents are paraffins, synthetic resins and gelatine. The Merck Histosec® products are selected paraffins with added polymers. They are available with or without DMSO. The increased elasticity of embedded tissue enables excellent individual and series sections to be prepared.
