Our New Life Science Center
On October 11 we will celebrate the opening of a new $115 million Life Science Center in Burlington, Massachusetts. This 280,000-square-foot facility at 400 Summit Drive will serve as a premier global customer destination and will be a major hub for the North American life science business of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, which operates as MilliporeSigma in the United States and Canada. The customer collaboration lab and training center housed at this new campus is one of nine locations worldwide where customers can work in our MilliporeSigma’s M Lab™ Collaboration Center in a non-GMP environment to conduct hands-on training, customer experiments and application troubleshooting. By working with our scientists and engineers in this way, customers can solve the toughest biomanufacturing challenges to accelerate development of new therapies.
The building will also be home to 1,000 employees, including customer service and a call center. The facility is LEED-certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), meaning it promotes sustainability, resource conservation and human health. This new campus accommodates the company’s Massachusetts footprint, further strengthening its decade-long investment and history in the Commonwealth, one of the most important science and technology hubs in the world.
