Containers in laboratories have to be labelled with clear and complete information on their contents as well as hazard and safety information in order to minimize risks for your lab personnel. In the European Union, substances have to be labelled according to GHS (Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals) since December 2010; for mixtures GHS will become mandatory in 2015. In the U.S., GHS has to be adopted by 2015, as well.
