Superspher® columns are specially designed for highly efficient HPLC separations. According to both theoretical calculation and practical experience, these high performance spherical silica carriers, with a mean particle size of 4 μm, provide an optimum pressure to separation performance ratio. The number of theoretical plates for Superspher® HPLC columns is > 100,000 N/. This makes them the ideal choice for complex sample mixtures that require high peak capacity.
Features and Benefits
- Highly efficient HPLC separations
- Optimum pressure to separation performance ratio
- Number of theoretical plates > 100,000 N/
- Ideal for complex mixtures requiring high peak capacity
Packing Materials
Superspher® packing materials are available as LiChroCART® cartridges with a variety of lengths and internal diameters (4 mm, 3 mm, and 2 mm). LiChroCART® 3 mm i.d. and 2 mm i.d. narrow bore cartridges for HPLC reduced solvent consumption while increasing sensitivity and resolution. Hence, they save costs and efforts involved with handling large solvent quantities. LiChroCART® 4 mm i.d., 3 mm i.d. and 2 mm i.d. are compatible with the manu-CART® “4” cartridge holder. This enables faster and more flexible method adaptation to smaller bore columns.
Superspher® Modifications
Polar Derivative
Superspher® Si 60: A versatile HPLC spherical silica sorbent for normal phase chromatography.
Non-Polar Derivatives
Superspher® 60 RP-8: A reliable versatile, traditionally produced spherical silica gel support with C-8 reversed phase properties, well suited for the separation of neutral, acidic and weak basic compounds.
Superspher® 60 RP-8 endcapped: A reliable and versatile, traditionally produced spherical silica gel support with C-8 endcapped reversed phase properties, well suited for the separation of neutral, acidic and weak basic compounds.
Superspher® 100 RP-18: A reliable and versatile, traditionally produced spherical silica gel support with C-18 reversed phase properties, well suited for the separation of neutral, acidic and weak basic compounds..
Superspher® 100 RP-18: endcapped: A reliable and versatile, traditionally produced spherical silica gel support with C-18 endcapped reversed phase properties, well suited for the separation of neutral, acidic and weak basic compounds.
Superspher® 60 RP-select: A highly reproducible, traditionally manufactured spherical silica gel support with reversed phase properties and the hydrophobicity of a C-8 phase. This carrier is ideal for the separation of basic compounds, but is also suitable for the determination of neutral and acidic compounds.
