      Special InstructionsReconstitute antibody with 1 ml dH₂O. Following reconstitution, refrigerate (4°C) for short-term storage or aliqout, flash-freeze in liquid nitrogen, and deep freeze (-70°C) for long-term storage. Stock solutions are stable for up to 3 months at 4°C or for up to 1 year at -70°C. Thaw aliquots at 37°C. Reconstitute positive control lysate with 200 µl H₂O. After complete solubilization of the proteins add 200 µl SDS-PAGE sample buffer and incubate at 90°C for 5 min. Following reconstitution of positive control, aliquot and freeze (-20°C). Avoid freeze/thaw cycles of solutions.

      DescriptionMouse monoclonal antibody purified by thiophilic adsorption and size exclusion chromatography. Recognizes the ~90 kDa nuclear dephospho β-catenin protein. Supplied with a control lysate derived from 2x106 LiCl-treated SW480 cells.
      Backgroundβ-Catenin is a cytoplasmic protein that mediates the interaction of Ca2+-dependent transmembrane adhesion proteins (cadherins) with the cytoskeletal network. β-Catenin may also play a role in tumorigenesis, as it complexes with the tumor suppressor gene product APC. β-Catenin directly interacts and constitutively activates transcription factors of the TCF/LEF family.
