Background Information	Lysophosphatidic acid receptor 5 (LPA receptor 5), also known as GPR92, is a G12/13 and Gq coupled receptor that mediates the signaling of LPA. Ligand binding to LPA receptor 5 may increase intracellular levels of cAMP and calcium, resulting in the activation of a wide range of effector molecules. Recent studies have demonstrated that LPA receptor 5 is abundantly expressed in human mast cells, and mediates the release of the macrophage inflammatory protein-1β (MIP-1β), indicating that LPA receptor 5 may play a role in innate and adaptive immunity.
