      Native CEA from human colon adenocarcinoma via saline extraction, ion exchange chromatography, and gel filtration; no perchloric acid or detergents were used. Preservative and reductant free. Found in tumors in adults. A useful marker for breast cancer and adenocarcinomas of the esophagus and stomach.

Purified CEA is the most widely used general marker in determining and monitoring the status of malignant disease.
