      Revision28-April-2009 RFH
      SynonymsPGS-1 Peptide
DescriptionA synthetic peptide that contains the glycogen synthase kinase-3 (GSK-3) recognition motif S-X-X-X-S(p) and serves as an excellent GSK-3α/β substrate in in vitro kinase assays. The peptide sequence is derived from the highly conserved GSK phosphorylation site in glycogen synthase 1 of multiple species, including human, mouse, rat, dog, cow, pig, rabbit, and horse. The totally non-phosphorylated peptide cannot be recognized by and is therefore not a substrate for GSK-3.
