suitability

suitable for phosphatase test

UniProt accession no.

Gene Information

human ... PTPN7(5778)

General description

40.7kDa
FUNCTION: SwissProt: P35236 # Protein phosphatase that acts preferentially on tyrosine-phosphorylated MAPK1. Plays a role in the regulation of T and B-lymphocyte development and signal transduction.
SIZE: 360 amino acids; 40529 Da
SUBUNIT: Monomer. Interacts with MAPK1, MAPK3 and several other MAP kinases.
SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cytoplasm.
TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Expressed exclusively in thymus and spleen.
PTM: Phosphorylated on serine residues in resting T-cells. Phosphorylation increases upon exposure to stimuli that increase intracellular cAMP levels. Phosphorylation leads to dissociation of bound MAP kinases.
SIMILARITY: SwissProt: P35236 ## Belongs to the protein-tyrosine phosphatase family. Non-receptor class subfamily. & Contains 1 tyrosine-protein phosphatase domain.
