Gene Information
mouse ... Zic2(22772)
General description
55 kDa
Zinc-finger transcription factor (Zic2) is a conserved signaling protein with critical roles in neural development including neurulation, anteroposterior patterning, neural crest formation, cerebellar development, and ipsilateral axonal targeting across the optic chiasm. It activates the transcription of target genes by DNA binding and recruitment of RNA helicase A (RHA). Zic2 has been shown to operate as a transcriptional repressor of cellular proliferation and neurogenesis. Zic2 is expressed in pluripotent cells in the blastocyst and adult brain expression overlaps with markers of neurogenesis. The Zic2kd/kd mice show holoprosencephaly and spina bifida, which derive from malformations in the anterior and posterior ends of the neural tube, respectively. Due to its apparent role in the regulation of granule cell expansion, Zic2 expression is a useful marker for mature granule neurons in the developing cerebellum.
Immunogen
Epitope: This antibody recognizes Zic2 at the N-terminus region.
This antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a GST-tagged recombinant protein corresponding to residues in the N-terminus of mouse Zic2.
Application
Anti-Zic2 Antibody is an antibody against Zic2 for use in WB, IH.
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: 1:200 dilution from a previous lot detected Zic2 on mouse cerebellum and hippocampus tissue.
Biochem/physiol Actions
This antibody recognizes Zic2.
Analysis Note
Evaluated by Western Blot in mouse cerebellum lysate.
Western Blot Analysis: : 0.1 µg/ml of this antibody detected Zic2 on 10 µg of mouse cerebellum lysate.

The Gleason score (GS) of prostate cancer on diagnostic biopsies is an important parameter for therapeutic decision-making. Biopsy GS under-estimates the actual GS at radical prostatectomy in a significant number of patients due to samplingartifact. The aim of this study
Regulation of prelamin A but not lamin C by miR-9, a brain-specific microRNA.

Joubert syndrome (JS) is a recessively inherited congenital ataxia characterized by hypotonia, psychomotor delay, abnormal ocular movements, intellectual disability, and a peculiar cerebellar and brainstem malformation, the "molar tooth sign." Over 40 causative genes have been reported, all encoding for
