General description
Caspase-1 (ICE, interleukin-1b-converting enzyme) is the mammalian caspase responsible for the proteolytic conversion of the proforms of interleukin-1b and IL-18 into active cytokines. Like other caspases, caspase-1 itself is synthesized as a proenzyme that is cleaved during activation into large (20 kDa) and small (10 kDa) subunits.
Application
Western blot: 1-4 μg/mL
Immunoprecipitation: 4-8 μg/mL
Immunofluorescence: 10-20 μg/mL
Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user.

This Anti-Caspase 1 Antibody is validated for use in IF, IP, WB for the detection of Caspase 1.
Biochem/physiol Actions
AB1871 recognizes the 45 kDa procaspase-1 as well as the 20 kDa cleaved caspase-1.
Physical form
Affinity purified immunoglobulin. Liquid in PBS, pH 7.2, containing 50% glycerol, 1% BSA and 0.02% sodium azide.

The inhibition of pyroptosis has a protective effect in sepsis-associated encephalopathy (SAE). However, the mechanisms underlying pyroptosis in SAE remain to be elucidated. Here, we investigated the effects of the caspase inhibitors, Belnacasan (Beln) and Wedelolactone (Wede), on an induced
