Western blot: 1-10 μg/mL using ECL. AE1 has a molecular weight of approximately 90-100 kDa. It aggregates easily forming dimers and multimers. It may also be proteolytically processed to smaller fragments of 60, 40 and 20 kDa.
ELISA: 1-10 μg/mL using 1 μg/mL control peptide per well.

Biochem/physiol Actions
Recognizes rat Anion Exchanger 1 (AE1). The immunogen shows no significant sequence homology with other AE or other proteins.
SPECIES REACTIVITIES: The immunogen sequence is 90% conserved in mouse, 75% in human and 70% in bovine. Reactivity with other species has not been confirmed.
