General description
Natural killer (NK) cells are lymphocytes that function as a component of innate immunity against intracellular and parasitic pathogens, and possibly tumors. DAP12 is expressed on the surface of NK cells as a disulfide-linked homodimer and contains an immunoreceptor tyrosine based activation motif (ITAM) in its cytoplasmic domain. DAP12 non-covalently associates with members of the killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptor (KIR) family resulting in cellular activation.

Synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acid residues 89-113 of human DAP12 (Accession # AAD09437).
