Gene Information
human ... TSPO(706)
General description
Translocator protein (TSPO) is also called Mitochondrial benzodiazepine receptor, PKBS, or Peripheral-type benzodiazepine receptor (PBR). TSPO generates peripheral-type benzodiazepine recognition sites. TSPO has a role in cholesterol transport across mitochondrial membranes in steroidogenic cells, and may also be involved in in the transport of porphyrins and heme. TSPO is found in many tissue types, but is normally found expressed at the highest levels in steroid synthesizing tissues.
~16 kDa observed
Immunogen
Epitope: C-terminus
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to the C-terminus of human TSPO.
Application
Anti-TSPO Antibody is a rabbit polyclonal antibody, validated for use in western blotting & IHC.
