Analysis Note

Evaluated by Western Blotting in U2OS cell lysate.

Western Blotting Analysis: 1.0 µg/mL of this antibody detected RAD18 in 10 µg of U2OS cell lysate.

Application

Epitope: C-terminal region.

Biochem/physiol Actions

This polyclonal antibody detected both ubiquitinated and non-ubiquitinated human RAD18 by targeting the C-terminal region of human Rad18 (Miyase, S., et al. (2005). J. Biol. Chem. 280(1):515-524; Tateishi, S., et al. (2003). Mol. Cell. Biol. 23(2):474-481).

General description

GST-tagged recombinant human RAD18 C-terminal fragment.
~65/75 kDa observed. Ubiquination of RAD18 can be detected (Miyase, S., et al. (2005). J. Biol. Chem. 280:515-524). Uncharacterized band(s) may appear in some lysates.

Other Notes

Human. Predicted to react with non-human primate based on 100% sequence homology.

Physical form

Purified rabbit polyclonal in buffer containing 0.1 M Tris-Glycine (pH 7.4), 150 mM NaCl with 0.05% sodium azide.

Preparation Note

Stable for 1 year at 2-8°C from date of receipt.

Historically chromatin was considered to contain only DNA, histones, non-histone proteins and transiently associated mRNAs. While this remains true, current data suggest that a variety of non-coding RNAs (e.g. long non-coding RNAs, enhancer RNAs and even miRNAs) also associate with chromatin and serve regulatory functions.
