Gene Information
human ... KDM5B(10765)
General description
JARID1B (jumonji AT rich interactive domain 1B), also known as KDM5B, is histone demethylase with a preference for mono, di, and trimethylated lysine 4 of histone H3. Demethylation of lysine 4 in histone 3 is commonly associated with transcriptional repression. This nuclear protein belongs to the ARID family of DNA binding proteins and is highly expressed in a large number of breast cancers. This protein has been linked to the repressinion of multiple tumor suppressor genes including BRCA1 and HOXA5.
~180 kDa observed. Uncharacterized bands may be observed at ~ 48 and 53 kDa in some lysates.
Immunogen
Epitope: C-terminal domain
GST-tagged recombinant protein corresponding to human JARID1B at the C-terminal domain.
Application
Anti-JARID1B Antibody is a Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody for detection of JARID1B also known as lysine (K)-specific demethylase 5B & has been validated in WB & IP.
Immunoprecipitation:
A representative lot of this antibody was reported to work for immunoprecipitation analysis in Saos-2, MCF-7, and T47D lysates (Laboratory of E. Benevolenskaya , University of Illinois at Chicago).

Earlier studies had suggested that epigenetic mechanisms play an important role in the control of human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) infection. Here we show that productive HCMV infection is indeed under the control of histone H3K27 trimethylation. The histone H3K27 methyltransferase EZH2
