Anti-FOXL2 Antibody

Forkhead box protein L2 (FOXL2) is a fork-head transcription factor that is expressed in developing gonad and in granulosa cells of the mature ovary. It plays a role in repressing the development of testis, and facilitating the differentiation and maintenance of the ovary. Mutations in the FOXL2 gene result in blepharophimosis ptosis epicanthus inversus (BPES) syndrome, which is characterized by craniofacial defects and premature ovarian failure. FOXL2 has also been implicated in the development of ovarian granulosa cell tumors.

~50 kDa observed. An uncharacterized band may appear at ~25 kDa in some lysates. The calculated molecular weight is 39 kDa, however FOXL2 has been shown as a ~50 kDa band in western blots (Marongiu, M., et al. (2010). PLOS One. 5(3):1-9).
