Gene Information

human ... NLRP12(91662)

General description

NLRP12 (NACHT, LRR and PYD domains-containing protein 12) is also known as Monarch-1 or PYRIN-containing APAF1-like protein 7 (PYPAF7). NLRP12 is thought to mediate activation of CASP1 (via ASC) and NF-kappa-B (via IKK). NLRP12 has been detected only in peripheral blood leukocytes, predominantly in eosinophils and granulocytes, and at lower levels in monocytes, and is regulated by nitric oxide. NLRP12 defects can cause familial cold autoinflammatory syndrome type 2 (FCAS2).
~110 kDa observed. Uniprot describes 5 isoforms produced by alternative splicing this antibody recognizes isoforms 1 through 4 at ~120 kDa, ~114 kDa, ~107 kDa, and ~102 kDa

Immunogen

KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to human NLRP12.

Application

We have identified that hydrogen sulfide (H2 S), a gaseous mediator, plays a crucial role in antioxidative, anti-inflammatory, and cytoprotective effects on uranium (U)-triggered rat nephrotoxicity. Pyroptosis is a special mode of inflammation and programmed cell death involved in the
