Description

General description

Transcription factor HES-1 (HES-1) also known as Hairy and enhancer of split 1, Hairy homolog, Hairy-like protein, belongs to the basic helix-loop-helix family of transcription factors. It is a transcriptional repressor of genes that require a bHLH protein for their transcription. The protein has a particular type of basic domain that contains a helix interrupting protein that binds to the N-box rather than the canonical E-box.

~30 kDa observed. Uncharacterized bands maybe observed in some lysates.

Immunogen

KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to the near N-terminal of Mouse HES-1.

Application

Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:50 dilution from a representative lot detected HES-1 in mouse hindbrain, cerebellum and kidney tissue.

This Anti-HES-1 Antibody is validated for use in Western Blotting and Immunohistochemistry for the detection of HES-1.

Analysis Note

Evaluated by Western Blotting in mouse brain tissue lysate.

Western Blotting Analysis: 1.0 µg/mL of this antibody detected Hes-1 in 10 µg of mouse liver tissue lysate.
