General description
Cyclin-dependent kinase-like 5 (CDKL5) is a serine/threonine-protein kinase that mediates phosphorylation of Methyl-CpG-binding protein 2 (MECP2). MECP2 is a chromosomal protein that binds to methylated DNA, specifically to a single methyl-CpG pair. MECP2 mediates transcriptional repression through interaction with histone deacetylase and the corepressor SIN3A.
~ 115 kDa observed
Immunogen
GST-tagged recombinant protein corresponding to mouse CDKL5 near the N-terminus.
Application
Anti-CDKL5 NT Antibody is a highly specific rabbit polyclonal antibody, that targets Cyclin-dependent kinase-like 5 & has been tested in western blotting.
Western Blotting Analysis: A representative lot detected CDKL5 in mouse brain tissue expressing wild type CDKL5 and not in mouse brain tissue expressing knockout CDKL5.
Analysis Note
Evaluated by Western Blotting in rat brain tissue lysate.
Western Blotting Analysis: 1.0 µg/mL of this antibody detected CDKL5 in 10 µg of rat brain tissue lysate.

CDKL5 deficiency disorder (CDD) is an early onset, neurodevelopmental syndrome associated with pathogenic variants in the X-linked gene encoding cyclin-dependent kinase-like 5 (CDKL5). CDKL5 has been implicated in neuronal synapse maturation, yet its postdevelopmental necessity and the reversibility of CDD-associated
