Anti-LEMD3 Antibody

LEM domain-containing protein 3 (LEMD3), also known as Inner nuclear membrane protein Man1 (MAN1), is an inner nuclear membrane protein that interacts with BMP and activin-TGF-beta receptor-activated Smads and antagonizes TGF-beta signaling in human cells. Additionally, LEMD3 is shown to Interact with SMAD1, SMAD2, SMAD3 and SMAD5. Studies also show that LEMD3 binds to both the phosphorylated and the unphosphorylated R-SMADS. LEMD3 is expressed in heart, brain, placenta, lung, liver and skeletal muscle. Defects in LEMD3 are shown to cause disorders, such as osteopoikilosis, Buschke-Ollendorff syndrome (BOS), and melorheostosis (MEL).
