General description
Ephrin-B2 is also called EPH-related receptor tyrosine kinase ligand 5 (LERK-5) and HTK ligand (HTK-L). Ephrin-B2 is a cell surface transmembrane ligand for the Eph tyrosine kinase family of receptors. Ephrin-B2 binds Eph receptors on adjacent cells, leading to contact-dependent bidirectional signaling, which is critical for migration, repulsion and adhesion during neuronal, vascular and epithelial development. Ephrin-B2 is expressed in lung and kidney and together with EPHB4 is involved in heart morphogenesis and angiogenesis.
~65 kDa observed. The calculated molecular weight of this protein is ~37 kDa; however, this protein has been observed at 65-70 kDa (Attwood, B. K., et al. (2011). Nature. 473(7347):372–375.; Lin, K. T., et al. (2008). J Biol Chem. 283(43):28969-28979.).
Immunogen
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to human Ephrin-B2.
Application
Anti-Ephrin-B2, clone 10H1.1, Cat. No. MABC127, is a mouse monoclonal antibody that detcets Ephrin-B2 and has been tested for use in immunohitochemistry and Western Blotting.

The Eph-ephrin system plays pivotal roles in cell adhesion and migration. The receptor-like functions of the ephrin ligands allow the regulation of intracellular processes via reverse signaling. γ-Secretase mediated processing of ephrin-B has previously been linked to activation of Src
