Description

General description

Stabilin-2 (Stab2; FEEL-2; and HARE) is a phosphatidylserine receptor that is localized to hepatic sinusoidal endothelial cells. It is a large protein containing a linker domain, two laminin EGF-like domains, four FAS1 domains, and six EGF-like domains, enabling stabilin-2 to perform multiple functions. Stabilin-2 is primarily studied for its role as a scavenger receptor that is involved in the clearance of metabolic waste products, which may include hyaluronic acid, heparin, advanced glycation end-products, acetylated LDL, and chondroitin sulfates. Previous studies have also suggested that stabilin-2 may play a role in cell adhesion processes.

~190 kDa observed. The calculated molecular weight of this protein is 155 kDa, but can be observed at ~190 kDa due to high glycosylation. An uncharacterized band appears at ~20 kDa in some lysates.

Partially purified rat Stabilin-2 from the HA binding region.

Application

This Anti-Stabilin-2 Antibody, clone mAb-174 is validated for use in Western Blotting, IHC for the detection of Stabilin-2.
