Gene Information
human ... UBE4B(10277)
General description
Ubiquitin conjugation factor E4 B, also known as Homozygously deleted in neuroblastoma 1 or Ubiquitin fusion degradation protein 2, and encoded by the gene name UBE4B or HDNB1 or UFD2, is an important cellular mechanism for targeting abnormal or short-lived proteins for degradation. Ubiquitination involves at least three classes of enzymes: ubiquitin-activating enzymes, or E1s, ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes, or E2s, and ubiquitin-protein ligases, or E3s. UBE4B is an additional conjugation factor, E4, which is involved in multiubiquitin chain assembly. It is also the strongest candidate in the neuroblastoma tumor suppressor.
~140 kDa observed. Uncharacterized bands may be observed in some lysate(s).
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to human UBE4B.
Application
Anti-UBE4B, clone EPR7471, Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody is an antibody against UBE4B for use in Western Blotting.

Preparation Note
Stable for 1 year at -20°C from date of receipt.
Handling Recommendations: Upon receipt and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance.
Note: Variability in freezer temperatures below -20°C may cause glycerol containing solutions to become frozen during storage.
