General description
Fibroblast growth factor 13 (FGF13) is also called Fibroblast growth factor homologous factor 2 (FHF-2) and is a member of the heparin-binding growth factors family. FGF13 is a microtubule-binding protein that directly binds tubulin leading to polymerization and stabilization of microtubules, and is critical to neuron polarization and migration in the cerebral cortex and the hippocampus.FGF13 is thought to regulate voltage-gated sodium channels transport and function, and may also play a role in MAPK signaling. FGF13 is ubiquitously expressed, but is predominantly found in the nervous system.
~ 28 kDa observed
Immunogen
Recombinant protein corresponding to human recombinant FGF13 protein.
