General description
Voltage-gated calcium channel subunit alpha Cav3.2 is also called Voltage-dependent T-type calcium channel subunit alpha-1H and Low-voltage-activated calcium channel alpha 1 3.2 subunit. Voltage-gated calcium channel subunit alpha Cav3.2 and other voltage-sensitive calcium channels (VSCC) are involved in a variety of calcium-dependent processes, including muscle contraction, hormone or neurotransmitter release, gene expression, cell motility, cell division and cell death. Voltage-gated calcium channel subunit alpha Cav3.2 is expressed in kidney, liver, heart, brain, and isoform 2 appears to be testis specific. Voltage-gated calcium channel subunit alpha Cav3.2 defects can increase susceptibility to epilepsy, idiopathic generalized type 6 (EIG6) and epilepsy, childhood absence type 6 (ECA6).

Immunogen
Recombinant protein corresponding to human Cav3.2 Calcium Channel Subunit.
Application
Detect Cav3.2 using this mouse monoclonal antibody, Anti-Cav3.2 Calcium Channel Subunit Antibody & clone N55/10 validated for use in western blotting.
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A representative lot detected Cav3.2 Calcium Channel Subunit in wild type mice and demonstrated a loss of signal in Cav3.2 knock out mice (Prof. J. Trimmer, University of California, Davis.).
Western Blotting Analysis: A representative lot detected Cav3.2 Calcium Channel Subunit in HEK293 cell lysates expressing Flag-tagged Cav3.2 and demonstrated a loss of signal in HEK293 cell lysates expressing Flag-tagged Kv2.1 and Flag-tagged Cav3.1 (Prof. J. Trimmer, University of California, Davis.).
