General description
Tetratricopeptide repeat-containing Rab8b-interacting protein (TRIP8b) is also called PEX5-related protein, PEX5-like protein and Peroxin-5-related protein (Pex5Rp). TRIP8b a hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-gated (HCN) channel subunit that is involved in HCN cynclic nucleotide dependence and expression at the cell surface. TRIP8b is expressed specifically in the brain.
~70 kDa observed. Multiple isoforms may be observed due to alternative splicing (Lewis, A. S., et al. (2009). J Neurosci. 29(19):6250-6265.). Uncharacterized band(s) may be observed in some cell lysates.
Immunogen
Recombinant protein corresponding to rat TRIP8b.
Application
Anti-TRIP8b Antibody, clone N212A/34 is a highly specific mouse monoclonal antibody & that targets Tetratricopeptide repeat-containing Rab8b-interacting protein & has been tested in western blotting.

Western Blotting Analysis: 0.5 μg/mL of this antibody detected TRIP8b in 10 μg of human brain tissue lysate.
Western Blotting Analysis: A representative lot detected TRIP8b in COS cell lysates transiently transfected with GFP tagged TRIP8b (exon1b) and not in COS cell lysates transiently transfected with TRIP8b (exon1a, 2, or 4) or with untagged Kv2.1 plasmid (Prof. J. Trimmer, University of California, Davis.).
J. Biochem/physiol Actions
This antibody demonstrates specificity for TRIP8b containing exon 1b. It does not cross react with TRIP8b containing exons 1a, 2, or 4.
