Sara Yussefi is the global Head of Communications and Business Markets / Services for Merck’s Life Science business. In this role, she is responsible for internal communication for 22,000 Life Science employees, as well as for external communication, brand strategy, sustainability and science education programs, and creative services.
Yussefi joined the company in 2015 as the Head of Global Brand and Marketing Communications for the Consumer Health business. During her tenure, Yussefi moved through the organization taking on a number of global roles with increased responsibility, including serving as a strategic advisor and leading communications for the Healthcare’s commercial operations and global franchises, with responsibility for internal and external communications, executive positioning, traditional and social media, as well as thought leadership platforms.
Recently, Yussefi served as Chief of Staff to the Head of China & International for Merck’s Healthcare business. Prior to joining Merck, Yussefi held several leadership positions in communications agencies, amongst them Ketchum and Zucker.Kommunikation GmbH, both in Germany.
Yussefi earned a master’s degree in Information Science, English Philology and American Literature from the Saarland University and a Master of Business Administration from the Europe Institute of the Saarland University, both with distinction.
