ポリ(エチレンイミン)は、凍結細胞膜をろ過するための膜滑沢剤として用いられる水溶性ポリマーです。小型カラムに充填したPEIセルロースは、PEIセルロース被膜プレート上薄層クロマトグラフィーで用いるときと同じ電解質濃度で、環状ヌクレオチドを関連化合物から分離します。PEI溶液はナノファイバー膜の合成に使用できます。このナノファイバー膜は廃水試料からのアニオン性色素と重金属イオンの吸着に使用できます。
