Biochem/physiol Actions

興奮性アミノ酸系伝達物質で、グルタミン酸受容体(代謝型受容体、カイニン酸受容体、NMDA受容体、AMPA受容体)のあらゆるサブタイプのアゴニストです。

グルタミン酸またはグルタミン酸の塩形態であるグルタメートは、神経伝達物質として機能し、γ-アミノ酪酸などの他の神経伝達物質の前駆体にもなります。グルタミン酸は、成長、生殖、維持、免疫を制御する多くの代謝経路でも重要な役割を果たします。グルタミン酸は、TCA（トリカルボン酸）サイクルの重要なコンポーネントであるα-ケトグルタル酸に変換され、核酸および特定のアミノ酸の生合成の前駆体となります。細胞では、グルタミンはグルタミナーゼ酵素によってグルタミン酸に変換されます。グルタミンは、リンパ球、腸細胞、マクロファージ、腫瘍を含む急速に分裂する細胞のエネルギー源として機能します。グルタミンは、細胞性mTOR（ラパマイシンの哺乳類細胞での標的）シグナル伝達を介してタンパク質の代謝回転を調節します。また、アポトーシスの抑制に関連することも知られています。
