Biochem/physiol Actions

メタンスルホン酸エチルは、DNAエチル化剤であり、植物や動物に対して変異原性で、哺乳類に対して発がん性です。メタンスルホン酸エチルはDNA修復プロセスの研究においてモデルのアルキル化剤として使用されています。EMSはアデニン-チミン（A/T）へのグアニジン-シトシン（G/C）の塩基置換を誘発します。EMSはゲノム中の点変異や一塩基変異多型も発生させます。EMSは米、小麦およびシロイヌナズナに変異を誘発するために使用される潜在的な化学的突然変異原です。
