シグマが提供する酵素はスフィンゴシンキナーゼ 1（SK1）の膜フラクションへのin vitro条件下での転位に使用されています。 透過処理したHL60細胞のホスファチジルコリン（PC）からホスファチジン酸（PA）を生成する目的でも使用されています。
ホスホリパーゼ D（PLD）はリン脂質とスフィンゴミエリンのリン酸結合を加水分解して対応するホスファチジン酸を生成します。代謝ラベリングと、プロパギルChoの取りこみを測定することによってコリンリン脂質を直接in vivo画像化する研究でも使用されています。さらに、PLDは精製と反応速度の研究でも使用されています。
Biochem/physiol Actions
ホスホリパーゼ Dはグリセロリン脂質に特異性を示し、スフィンゴミエリンとリゾリン脂質に対しては著しく低い活性を示します。ホスホリパーゼ D はリン脂質とスフィンゴミエリンのリン酸結合を加水分解して対応するホスファチジン酸を生成します。
リン脂質およびスフィンゴミエリンのリン酸結合を加水分解して、相当するホスファチジン酸を生じます。

タンパク質はBiuret法で測定。
