尿素溶液は主としてタンパク質変性に使用されます。また、炭化水素の溶解性を増大させ、ミセル形成を抑えます。高濃度の尿素溶液は、アミロイドβ16−22オリゴマーを不安定化させます。
Preparation Note
冷蔵保存した 40%尿素溶液を室温まで温めます。その 5 mL を無菌的に 95 mL の滅菌済みの融解された尿素寒天基材（クリステンセン）に加えます。十分に混合し滅菌済み試験管に分注します。
