Tools for the Analysis of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances
Webinar
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) provides a wide range of reference material for quality assurance and quality control of measurements pertaining to organic pollutants in environmental and human matrices.
During the webinar, you will:
- Discover how NIST reference materials ensure homogeneity, stability, and SI-traceable quantitation for organic PFAS.
- Understand the measurement challenges PFAS pose and how NIST is addressing them through ongoing development of new reference materials.
- Explore the impact of these reference materials on QA/QC practices in environmental and human matrices.
- Learn how to apply PFAS reference materials to improve accuracy and precision in quantitative analyses.

Dr. Jessica L. Reiner
National Institute of Standards and Technology
Supervisory Research Chemist
Jessica Reiner is a group leader and research chemist for the Biochemical and Exposure Science Group at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), where she leads research on determining chemical concentrations in various media to understand exposure pathways. Her work focuses on improving analytical measurements of emerging chemicals by developing reference materials and methods. Under her leadership, the group's research portfolio includes key focus areas such as multi-omics measurements and aquaculture. The group provides essential measurement science, standards, and data for environmental and human health, develops and certifies reference materials, and works with stakeholders to improve and harmonize measurements globally.
