General description
Proline-rich protein 14 (UniProt Q9BWN1) is encoded by the PRR14 gene in human (Gene ID 78994). Proline-rich protein 14 participates in the tethering of heterochromatin to the inner nuclear periphery by associating with the nuclear lamina and attaching to heterochromatin through its binding partner, heterochromatin protein 1 (HP1). After disassembly early in mitosis, Proline-rich protein 14 reassembles via binding to anaphase chromosomes through HP1, then via association with the nuclear lamina in telophase. PRR14 may thereby play a role in specifying HP1-bound heterochromatin for reattachment to the nuclear lamina at mitotic exit.
Immunogen
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to human Proline-rich Protein 14.
Application
Anti-Proline-rich Protein 14 Antibody is an antibody against Proline-rich Protein 14 for use in Western Blotting.
Analysis Note
Evaluated by Western Blotting in HeLa cell lysate.
Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:500 dilution of this antibody detected Proline-rich Protein 14 in 10 ug of HeLa cell lysate.
